The new 3-slot Cisco Catalyst 6503-E Switch chassis offers a compact 4 rack-unit height that is ideally suited for multi-Gbps secure data centers, remote access, e-commerce, and converged network solutions. The Cisco Catalyst 6503-E supports Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series end-to-end operational consistency benefits.

• Supervisor engines are installed in slot 1 and slot 2
• Supports up to two Catalyst 6500 series modules
• Does not support the WS-C6500-SFM and WS-X6500-SFM2 Switch Fabric Modules
• The Cisco Catalyst 6503-E supports both Cisco Catalyst OS and Cisco IOS Software
• The Cisco Catalyst 6503-E provides maximum uptime with redundancy and rapid (1 to 3 seconds) stateful failover across supervisor engines.
• Supports one or two power supplies

Clock and VTT module:

• One replaceable clock module (CLK-7600=) provides clocking signals to the EOBC channel and the switching bus
• Non-replaceable voltage termination (VTT) module provides reference voltage for bus signals
